Put simply our main duty is “Ship Management” We strive to maintain operational
safety and reduce costs by finding potential hazards and malfunctions at an early
Knowledge and skill are required by us in many areas, technical capabilities for hull
structures, paint, material, machinery and electrical and also understanding
International convention safety regulations and charter party.
It is also important for us to have exceptionally high communication skills because
we deal with (people from) charterers, shipyards and manufacturers.
In these situations it’s imperative to be able to analyze the situation and make the
right decisions decisively and quickly.
Internal discussion where we can express our opinions as technical superintendents
is one of the most important parts of our business. Conferences with our bosses and
colleagues and cooperation with other departments are equally as important.
We are also involved in drafting repair plans and supervising the repairs to ships and
the building of new ships. These opportunities give our young staff great experience and a real sense of responsibility helping them to develop as they learn.
